After qualifying in medicine in the 1972, David studied homeopathy then trained as a GP. He was one of the first family doctors to bring conventional and natural medicine together in their NHS practice. After becoming a Registered Osteopath in 1987 he joined the founding team at the ground-breaking Marylebone Health Centre (MHC) set up to develop new approaches to inner city healthcare in Central London. MHC was the first NHS practice to bring in complementary therapists, and he still directs its complementary therapies programme.
David is Professor of Integrated Healthcare at the University of Westminster, the UK's largest University department of complementary therapies, where they are exploring ways of using complementary and alternative medicine effectively in the NHS.
